Simply “Unity in Diversity” means
unity between dis-similar individuals and group. And in other word it means
oneness in the varieties. It includes ethnicity, class, gender, physical qualities,
race as well as religion status, gender expression, educational background, geographical
land reforms, location, income, work experience etc.
Unity in diversity is very much essential for a country to resolve many internal problems because people with various cultural differences may respect each other and live a healthy and peaceful life. India is a land of ‘unity in diversity’. It has vast seas, countless rivers, varieties of natural vegetation (forest), various mountain ranges to Great Plains of North – India to plateaus of South – India.
Though there is vast diversity in
India, unity can be seen during national festival. Ever individual irrespective
of their cast & creed, sense, religion, observes the festivals very happily.
This gives the message of unit in diversity.
India is a country of many
languages. There are many languages; in North – India most of the people speak
Hindi while in South Dravidians speak Tamil, Teluge, Malayalam, Kannada and
Oriya. Similarly in Bengal; Bengali is the prominent language. Apart from all
the state & native languages English plays the prominent role in unifying
the people of country.
